Meetings:

The UNL Block and Bridle meet on every FIRST and THIRD Thursday of each month. Meeting times range from week to week: Initiates - 6:30. General Meeting - 7:30. Meetings usually occur in the East Campus Union (Notices of date, time and place are posted and sent by email).

Purpose:

  • To promote a higher scholastic standard among the students of Animal Science.
  • To promote Animal Science especially in all phases of student Animal Science work in college and universities exclusively for educational purposes.
  • To bring about a closer relationship among men and women pursuing some phase of Animal Science as a profession.

History:

On December 9, 1919, students representatives from four Animal Husbandry Clubs met in Chicago and formed the National Block & Bridle Club. These charter chapters were Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. During this meeting, the chapters formed a constitution which included the above statement of the club's objectives.
