Three Animal Science Students named Chancellor's Scholars Monday, May 15, 2023

Animal Science majors TaraLee Hudson, Tucker Randall, and Taylor Peter were part of a record number of University of Nebraska-Lincoln students to earn Chancellor's Scholar honors for the spring of 2023.

Chancellor’s Scholars are students who have maintained 4.0 grade-point averages on all collegiate work at Nebraska and elsewhere. The 94 students that earned the honor will be recognized at undergraduate commencement on May 20 at Memorial Stadium.

M.A.S. Program Helps Hodges Expand Knowledge and Livestock Business Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Growing up, Morgan Hodges always wanted to work in the cattle industry. Her father was a livestock extension specialist, allowing her to be around production agriculture to see and learn about a lot of places and operations.

A native of Kingsville, Texas, she attended Texas A&M University with a major in animal science, but like most college students, finding a focus area in the program was a bigger challenge.

Sarah Eberspacher was the winner of the Back on Track High Point Rider title
Eberspacher Claims High-Point Rider Championship, Equestrian Team Earns 14th-Straight Top 10 Finish at IHSA National Championship Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Sarah Eberspacher was crowned the Back on Track Western High-Point Rider and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian Western team finished in the top ten for the 14th consecutive season at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championships held May 4-7 in Lexington, Ky.

The IHSA is comprised of over 400 schools and 10,000 riders competing overall in competitions.

Lampereur Competes at Equestrian Zones Competition Tuesday, April 11, 2023

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian Hunt team member Anna Lampereur recently traveled to Stanford, Calif., to compete in postseason Zones competition hosted by Stanford University.

Riders that finished in the top two in their respective classes at regional competition advanced to Zones competition, a postseason competition for qualifying for National Championships. Zone competitors that again finish in the top two advance to Nationals.

Heath Keiser Inducted Onto 2023 Mortar Board Tuesday, April 11, 2023

Heath Keiser, a senior animal science major from Gothenberg, Neb., was named a 2023 inductee to Mortar Board on April 1.

The event, co-sponsored by Mortar Board and the Innocents Society, recognized outstanding contributions of students selected to serve in the two senior honorary organizations, as well as the achievements of current members and notable underclassmen and seniors.

Sparky's 30th birthday will be celebrated on April 20
Equestrian Team to Host Sparky's Spring Fling on April 20th Friday, April 7, 2023

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian team will be holding a 30th birthday celebration for the oldest member of the horse herd, Sparky, on April 20 from 5-7 p.m in the Animal Science Complex on East Campus.

The event is open to the public and admission is free. There will be games, activities, pony rides, and more!
