Wildlife Rehabilitation Internship--Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Miami, Florida.
Unique internship opportunity for college students interested in native Florida wildlife with an emphasis on seabirds. Up to 2 internships are available with housing. Participants will learn to identify native species, set up age and species appropriate environments, choose, prepare, and feed nutritious diets and assist with medical treatments. There may be opportunities to observe surgeries and necropsies. While the main focus of the internship is animal care, interns may also participate in many of the other daily activities of a non-profit organization, including public education and fund-raising events. This internship is available every semester. The specific start and end dates will be decided on an individual basis.
